Crisis Response
(man-made and natural hazards)
Agency RED provides technical support to support actors in challenging environments around the world to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
A Challenging World
With well over 100 million people affected by natural disasters in the year 2016 alone and more than 85 million people around the world having been forced to flee their homes, the need for humanitarian aid is increasing all over the world, pushed by severe ethnic, political and religious conflicts as well as extreme weather events caused by climate change.
Whether it is a man-made crisis or a natural disaster, responding to a crisis always is a challenge: Timeliness, targeting, adequacy, efficiency, coordination, communication, security, perception, transparency, etc. No matter how experienced an organisation might be, how well trained the deployed team can be, how adapted the tools are, the difference between a successful response and a not so successful one is a very fine line. Equally challenging is the transition towards mid-term to longer term response type.
Our Involvement
With highly qualified professionals with more than 20 years of experience in numerous crisis and post-crisis contexts around the world, we provide the necessary expertise at all stages of the project cycle management. Through necessary external analysis and tailored solutions we improve rapid response capacity, targeted accuracy, assistance adequacy, cost-efficiency, coordination, communication as well as security management.
Our work rely on field based surveys and recommendations, adapted trainings, as well as direct support in the implementation of the proposed solutions.
